Update 0.5.0.1


After a huge period of time, we have decided to release a new update that will open the update cycle of version 0.5. This version represents a small part of what we originally wanted to implement in this update, so we decided to release some of the innovations and then implement the remaining content.

New

  • The structure generation system has been completely redesigned. The speed and smoothness of the generator has also been improved.
  • The generator itself has been improved to support finer noise tuning.
  • New Tile Mixing System. It dynamically mixes different variations of tails, “rounding out” biomes.
  • Dynamic Lighting System. The game now presents areas that are closed off from the global light source, which can be illuminated by torches and the like.
  • The entire AI has been redesigned, as well as behavioral variations have been expanded and augmented. The AI now acts much faster, making you wait less before your turn starts.
  • Some new structures have been added, as well as structures that were in previous versions but were extremely rare now appear in adequate quantities.
  • Almost all equipment has been redesigned, as well as added a large number of new equipment.
  • Added a new biome “Caves”. In the depths of the caves dwell goblins, as well as there is dark. In future versions the variety of caves is planned to expand.
  • Added merchants, trade system, as well as guards. Trade depends on the difference between the charisma of your character and the merchant. Also with the help of certain skill checks you can influence the cost of goods.
  • Enchantments. Most items can now have enchantments, which strengthen or give new features to items. In the future there will be new enchantments, as well as the ability to enchant items yourself.
  • Items for lighting the area around the player: torch, belt lamp, lamp oil.
    Added localization support, as well as partial rough translation into Russian (to be completed in the future).
  • Added optional analytics, which will allow us to anonymously collect data on how you play.
  • Many other, small innovations.

Changes

  • The area of new structures on the map has been enlarged, as well as the area showing the area around the player.
  • Added camera zoom and render quality settings to improve performance on weak devices.
  • Visual changes to water.
  • Overall performance improvement, especially near bodies of water.
  • Armor class of npcs on hardcore and hardcore difficulty has been significantly reduced.
  • The amount of experience required to level up has been increased slightly.
  • Character models have been changed.
